Bangladesh GDP Grows 4.6% in June Quarter on Industrial Rebound

Bangladesh’s gross domestic product expanded 4.60% in the April-June quarter, compared with the 2.05% pace a year earlier, according to provisional data released by the Bureau of Statistics Wednesday.

• The rebound was driven by industrial output that rose 6.52% compared with 0.92% a year earlier
• Services, which make up about 53% of economic output, expanded 4.28% in the June quarter compared with 2.26% a year earlier
• Farm-sector growth declined to 1.73% from 3.19% a year earlier
