Revolut’s Commercial Real Estate Lending Head Exits Fintech

By Charlie Wells | Updated on Oct 07, 2026 at 09:40 AM

Revolut Ltd.’s chief of commercial real estate lending, Duncan Batty , has departed less than two years after joining the fintech firm.

Batty will be returning to M&G Investments as head of real estate finance in November, where he previously spent 12 years, according to a statement from M&G. He’ll report to Martin Towns, global head of M&G Real Estate.

A spokesperson for the London-based company confirmed the executive’s exit, which was revealed in Companies House disclosures.

Batty, who was earlier M&G’s co-head of the real estate finance platform, was hired by Revolut in January 2025 to help the digital bank build out its commercial real estate division.

Hopes for a rebound in UK commercial real estate dealmaking have been dashed after the conflict in the Middle East stoked inflation concerns and kept interest rates elevated. Real estate credit strategies, which benefit from higher rates and provide greater protection during a downturn, have remained popular with investors even as deal volumes remain depressed. That’s put pressure on margins as lenders compete for deals.
