Saudi Arabia-led coalition forces in Yemen said the kingdom’s main airport in Riyadh was hit by an unknown projectile on Sunday, causing a fire.
A passenger terminal at the King Khalid airport was struck, the coalition said.
The extent of damages were unclear at the time of the statement’s release, as was the origin of the attack.
That follows a deadly strike on the same airport on Saturday that killed 12 people and injured more than 300, bringing international travel at the airport to a near-halt. Saturday’s attack was the worst that has been reported in the kingdom since the US-Iran war broke out in February.
Already, it has forced the King Abdullah Financial District to shift to remote work for the foreseeable future and has prompted some executives to pull out of a major energy event in the capital.
