Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever canceled a state of the union speech in parliament planned for Tuesday, citing a lack of agreement on the country’s budget within his government.

A provisional scenario for monthly government budgets isn’t an option due to “the seriousness of the budgetary situation and the developments in the financial markets,” the premier’s office said in a statement Sunday.
